Scooby Doo Wah

Last night Hazen and I were watching the new Scooby Doo movies since it's the Halloween season. He had never seen Scooby Doo before (I know, what kind of a mom am I to not have exposed him to Scooby Doo? He's an American icon!). Each time there was a commercial, he would freak out because he wanted to watch "Scooby Doo Wah." I kept hearing him say "Scooby Doo Wah" and couldn't figure out where the "Wah" was coming from. Then it hit me...there is a Wiggles song that he loves--Big Red Car--that says, "Greg is in the front seat, singing scooby doo wah." What a smart little bean! Cracks me up that he calls him "Scooby Doo Wah!"

Emmie and the Oreo...

Yesterday we went to the grocery store and the Oreos were calling my name. Apparently they were calling Emmie's name too because she devoured one and was covered in black cookie goo. She LOVES Oreos! Today, Hazen found the Oreos and gave Emmie and me one. She wasn't strapped to her chair and was free to roam and eat. So needless to say, I have Oreo spots on my stairs, couch, blanket and wall! Gotta love 1-year-olds!

And HE eats!

That's right, Hazen has been eating! This is proof that he does more than drink Pediasure! He's eating nuggets in the top picture and Cheerios in the bottom one! Makes my heart happy to see him eat! I know that sounds corny, but the boy really does not eat.
He was quite happy to show me his food! :)

Conversations with Hazen

Last night Hazen and I were watching the Rockies get massacred by the Red Socks in the World Series and we started to chat about Colorado professional sports teams. It went a little something like this:

Hazen: That guy not catch it, Mama!
Me: You're right, he didn't catch it, he dropped the ball! (bummer, another hit by the B Socks)
Me: Haze, say "Go Rockies!"
Hazen: Go Rockies! Go Broncos! (didn't even have to teach him that one! Runs through his blood!)
Me: Good job! Say, "Go Avs!"
Hazen: Go Avs!
Hazen: Go Pumpkins!
Me: What? Who are the pumpkins?
Hazen (ignoring the question): Go Pumpkins!

And then he goes to play with his trucks...gotta love the things that kids say! :)

Hard to believe she was this big a year ago:

We had a great day with great people....Now we are all battling colds. Oh how we love sharing germs in our house!

Been a bad blogger...

Okay, so finally have a few minutes to breathe and update this here blog. Things are not slowing down anytime soon! Just finished our first round of conferences at school--that's ALWAYS interesting. Our first trimester is over in about 4 weeks! Can't believe it!
The kids are great--Emmie turns one in a week! I am having a little shindig for her on Saturday, and will have pictures to post after that. She loves my phones and freaks out if she can't play with my cell. She pretends to talk on it and holds it up to her ear like someone is on the other line. Too cute!
Hazen is crazy as ever. He is into saying, "yeah I think so" when I tell him "no." He also likes to talk on the phone so several of my friends have had the pleasure of chatting with him. What is it with my kids and phones?!
Everything else is good. Getting ready to start playing basketball again. It's been a while and I am SUPER out of shape. Had a friend tell me "you better hit the gym--we don't like to sub!" GREAT! :) We will be in a league starting in a few weeks. I am excited to be doing something physical again. I mean, chasing the kids keeps me in shape but it will be nice to hoop it up again. I had thought about getting into coaching again but don't think i have time right now. Too bad though because the high school in my district is looking for coaching positions!
Here are some new pictures of the kids:
