Journey to Puebla, Mexico: Day 1

And so it began...we left Denver on June 7 and landed in Mexico City that night. After 3 hours of waiting for luggage, buses and going through customs, we finally headed out towards Puebla, which was about a 2 hour bus ride. We arrived at the hotel at 11:30 to find club sandwiches, chips and nasty tasting sangria and soda. We were all famished and then most of us headed to bed after we ate!
Most of my cohort--we have all been in this master's program together for the past year and a half. We're like a little family! 12 of us went to Puebla, and pictured are Joe, Katie, Emily, Christine, and Katharine.
K-dog and I. We taught at Kearney for the past 2 years together and she was my roomie for the 2 week stay. We had a great time together! Love that girl!

Camping!

V and I decided to take the kids camping the weekend before I left for Mexico, so here are three uber cute pictures of the kids eating their lunch. They just propped themselves up on the cooler and were SO funny just eating and lounging away! We had a great time and they adjusted to life outside pretty easily!

June slip-n-slide pics

Before I headed to Mexico for my grad classes, I invested in a slip-n-slide for my lovelies. They loved it and had so much fun playing with the water and pushing each other down the slide! Too cute! Love the nakedness of the swimsuits! :)

Conversations with my son, part 612

I took Hazen with me today to school--it was our last day with kids, a half day and he always has a good time at my "kool." Here's the conversation on the way:

H: I don't like Chase, Mommy. (Chase is a boy in his class at the day care).
Me: Why?
H: He's angry with me.
Me: Why is he angry?
H: He's mad that I am friends with Colin and Courtey (Courtney).
Me: Why is he mad?
H: Because we don't like him and we don't play with him. He's mean. I pushed him when he was getting a drink.
Me: We don't push our friends, Hazen. That's not nice.
H: He's not my friend, Mommy! He's angry at me!
Me: (sigh...) Oh Hazen!

Emmie and the Grapes

She is hilarious. The girl LOVES to eat...She was so funny yesterday eating grapes while we were waiting for Ben to come to the park. I am pretty sure she didn't chew! Too cute!

The stream

There is a park over by our house that I like to take the little ones to. There is a big lake, a couple of cool playgrounds, a basketball court and this little stream. They were too cute when they discovered that there was trash floating in it--gotta love polluters! :) I couldn't resist the pictures! Take notice of Hazen's Spiderman undies...he rocks....

"Emmie Cute..."

My little Emmer has been repeating everything I say. The other day I put her in a cute little dress and did her hair all purty-like. After she was done getting dressed, I said, "Emmie's cute!" So now, everytime I get her dressed she says, "Emmie cute!" Too funny! Yesterday, one of the ladies at the day care put her hair up in 2 ponytails and she DID look super cute. She got in the car and said, "Emmie cute! Emmie cute!" SO, I had to take a picture! She is so freaking adorable!
